Each of our villas at the Espadilla Ocean Club has its unique character and was intentionally designed to have a symbiotic relationship with the other villas to create a “whole.” Reflecting off the elements of nature, the villas are themed and carry one of each of the elements of Fire, Water, Earth and Air. These are also elements that humans seek out as resources to survive and/or to find health and wellness.
Additionally, in the inspiration of the minimalist design; each item, piece of furniture and window is strategically valued. Concrete and tile are the dominate mediums used with details of wood and metal. Buildings, their layouts, relationship with each other and the gardens were model after local architecture and typical “barrios” (neighborhoods) which have proven to endure taxing extremes of the Equator’s climate and the human/wildlife cohabite, alike.
The modern amenities such as air conditioning, hot water and electric appliances are power by solar panels distributed throughout the property. Though simple in nature, the conscious intention was to lower impact on the surrounding jungle of Manuel Antonio and the habitat of tropical wildlife. Not only in our building practices, but all that we do, our intention is to offer a balance between comfort and consciousness.
