Manuel Antonio is everything the travel guides say, and more. It is clean, fresh, exotic, natural–we saw sloths and lizards, monkeys and spiders. The beach was spectacular, and although it was rainy season, the weather was very pleasant for most of our trip.
Espadilla Ocean Club is a relatively new property, but it is positioned to be one of the hottest destinations in the region. The villas are spacious and artfully designed, and they are a stone’s throw from the beach. Very few properties in Quepos/MA are truly beachfront, but at Espadilla, you can run to the beach for an hour or two and then head back to your villa and relax on the deck or by the plunge pool. Such luxury!
Shelley was a wonderful hostess, and Bobby was very helpful as well. Even the maids and the security guards were warm and welcoming. My wife and I felt right at home from day one.
I’ve had the privilege to vacation at properties in 14 different countries, and I’ve experienced a wide range–from high-end luxury to bare-bones backpacker culture. But I can say with confidence that my trip to Espadilla Ocean Club was my all-time favorite vacation. My wife, Heidi, agrees.
